Apr\u00e8s l\u2019obtention de son certificat de fin d&#8217;\u00e9tudes musicales (CFEM) et s&#8217;\u00eatre d\u00e9couvert une r\u00e9elle passion pour l\u2019improvisation musicale, elle s&#8217;\u00e9mancipe du conservatoire et entame une tourn\u00e9e au Mali. \u00c0 19 ans, elle quitte la France afin de partir \u00e9tudier le ney, fl\u00fbte traditionnelle orientale, au Grand Institut de musique arabe de Damas. Sa formation se poursuit lors de trois ann\u00e9es au Caire puis pour 6 ann\u00e9es entre Paris et Beyrouth, o\u00f9 elle rencontre et collabore avec de grands ma\u00eetres. Ses influences multiples oscillent entre la musique traditionnelle orientale, le jazz, le hip-hop et le rap en passant par l&#8217;improvisation.<br>En 2011, Na\u00efssam Jalal fl\u00fbtiste et compositrice fonde son quintet Rhythms of Resistance un ensemble \u00e0 son image dans la convergence des influences de quatre musiciens virtuoses de nationalit\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes : le saxophoniste et percussionniste franco-marocain Mehdi Cha\u00efb, le contrebassiste Damien Varaillon, le violoncelliste allemand Karsten Hochapfel et maintenant le tr\u00e8s demand\u00e9 batteur Arnaud Dolmen (victoire du jazz 2022). Donner voix \u00e0 la r\u00e9sistance, une id\u00e9e \u00e9ternellement neuve, salubre et salutaire qui refuse les compromis est l\u2019\u00e2me de Rhythms of Resistance. 3 albums \u00e9tincelants ont suivi tous acclam\u00e9s. Le quintet Rhythms of Resistance a atteint un haut niveau de maturit\u00e9 et de coh\u00e9sion musicale.
