Il aspirait \u00e0 faire d\u00e9couvrir la culture am\u00e9ricaine, essentiellement \u00e0 travers la musique. Il parcourut \u00e9galement les routes de France et effectua nombre de conf\u00e9rences en Afrique noire et au Maghreb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour le festival de jazz de Souillac, il fut d\u00e9clencheur ; sa conf\u00e9rence, \u00e0 Souillac en 1975, a \u00e9t\u00e9 le terreau sur lequel est n\u00e9e l\u2019association.
